Old Particular Bowmore 25yr
Nose: Sweet
musk, cindering oak, smoked Bavarian ham, witch hazel, peat, sugar coated
fennel fronds, Starbucks caffè mocha, rum soaked raisins, Parma violets, heather
and an earthy damp hit of dunnage.
Palate: Ash
from an autumn bonfire, brine, crispy mackerel skin, Sainsbury’s Florida pink
grapefruit juice, Parma violets, Lindt chilli chocolate, gingerbread, dried oak
and a punctuating punch-ette of peat.
Finish: A deliciously
delicate and umptuously uncomplicated lingerer.
Summary: A
stunning release from Douglas Laing’s new single cask Old Particular range,
which also just happens to be one of the best indie Bowmore’s I’ve sampled over
the last couple of years.
