Nose: An enticing and very inviting allure of dates,
raisins, poached pears, toffee apples, grilled peaches, summer pudding, dulce
de leche and warm Danish pastries. Followed by honey nut cornflakes, malt loaf,
cherry lozenges, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, rich oak, tobacco leaf, wood spice
and a stick of seaside rock.
Palate: Wave upon wave of wood spice, calvados steeped
raisins and prunes, apricots, grilled peaches and toffee apples. Followed by demerara
sugar, hazelnuts, toasted coconut chips, malt loaf, espresso coffee, mixed spice, cayenne pepper and Fireball Jawbreakers.
Finish: A full-on, right rollicking ride of finish, that
lingers on, and on, and on…
Summary: This is actually my first foray into the Seattle, Washington based Westland Distillery, and it certainly won’t be my last! This 6th release in their limited-edition Garryana series, is as brazen as it is beautiful and as gutsy as it is glorious!
