The Edinburgh based Tailored Spirits Co, has today announced the launch of its first-ever whisky series.

Comprised of three single malt Scotch whiskies, The Experimental Series aims to ‘redefine tradition’, with a belief that single cask spirits are not just about heritage, but also ‘curiosity, exploration and innovation’.

Tailored Spirits Co. is a new start-up that specialises in privately owned whisky casks. After launching in 2024, the company gained recognition and momentum by winning the top spot at the coveted Scottish Edge nation-wide entrepreneurial competition, landing the business with funding of £100k.

The Experimental Series bottlings are one-of-a-kind micro-batch experiments, limited-edition whiskies, which have been chosen to push the boundaries of what a single cask whisky can be.

Experiment 1 (AXIS) – Croftengea Loch Lomond 7 Year Old (58.8% ABV) A heavily peated Highland single malt whisky, which was matured in a first-fill Oloroso Montilla American oak bloodtub – 35l cask. Limited to 52 bottles.

Experiment 2 (BUCK) – Fettercairn 13 Year Old (54.1% ABV) A single Highland single malt whisky, which was re-racked into a high quality first-fill Ribera del Duero Spanish red wine Barrique. Limited to 84 bottles.

Experiment 3 (CLAW) – Ardmore 8 Year Old (60.4% ABV) A lightly peated Highland single malt whisky, which was initially matured in ex-Bourbon casks, before being re-racked into a first-fill ex-Cognac European oak barrique. Limited to 60 bottles.

Experiment 1 (AXIS) – Croftengea Loch Lomond 7 Year Old, Experiment 2 (BUCK) – Fettercairn 13 Year Old and Experiment 3 (CLAW) – Ardmore 8 Year Old, are now available from tailoredspirits.co.uk for the respective RRP’s of £59.50, £74.50 and £64.50.
