Havana Club, has today announced the launch of the eighth release from its limited-edition Tributo series.
Havana Club Iconica Tributo 2025 (43% ABV) was produced using a blend of extra-aged rums that were hand selected by Asbel Morales, Havana Club Maestro del Ron Cubano (Cuban Rum Master), which were finished in Redbreast single pot still Irish whiskey casks, from the Midleton Distillery in Cork, Ireland.
This latest release from the series which launched in 2016, is said to demonstrate the unrivalled artistry of Cuban rum-making, built on generations of knowledge, precise ageing and blending techniques perfected over centuries.
For Tributo 2025, the Maestros have taken the collection’s legacy to new heights by finishing an exceptional blend in the finest oak casks previously used to age Redbreast single pot still Irish whiskey. This unique partnership, made possible through the shared Pernod Ricard network, results in a harmonious expression that marries Havana Club’s smooth Cuban profile with the layered richness of Irish whiskey.
Havana Club Iconica Tributo 2025, is said to deliver notes of vanilla, dried fruits and sherry on the nose. Followed by notes of candied orange, fruitcake, plantain crisps, toasted oak, raisins and red berries on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Asbel Morales, Maestro del Ron Cubano, said: “Tributo 2025 is a celebration of Havana Club’s pioneering approach to successive ageing and blending, an art we have perfected over generations of Maestros del Ron Cubano, re-defining the art of Cuban rum-making. By finishing this rum in Redbreast whiskey casks, we introduce a new dimension to our craft, uniting the finest Cuban rum and Irish whiskey traditions to create a truly extraordinary expression.”
Limited to 2,967 bottles, Havana Club Iconica Tributo 2025 will be available in April from selected retailers, for a RRP of €450.
