The Hampden Estate has today announced the launch of a new permanent expression named in honour of the Jamaican distillery’s founding year.
Hampden Estate 1753 (46% ABV) is a Pure Single Jamaican Rum, produced using Pot Stills and matured in ex-Bourbon barrels for three years.
The new expression has been produced using the traditional methods that have made the distillery legendary: the use of pure spring water drawn from a nearby spring, a long fermentation triggered by natural indigenous yeasts, distillation in double-retort copper pot stills and tropical ageing in the distillery’s own warehouse.
This latest release is said to deliver notes of pineapple, banana, lemon, grapefruit, spices, nuts and a fresh vegetal touch.
Hampden Estate 1753, will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £65.00.
