It has to be said that there’s no shortage of annual releases and events in the whisky calendar. Alongside all the committee and special releases, shows and festivals, one of the undoubted highlights for me arrives in book form each autumn: the launch of the latest edition of the Malt Whisky Yearbook.

The Malt Whisky Yearbook is the brainchild of editor Ingvar Ronde and was first published in 2005. Since then, a new and completely revised edition has been released annually. What began as a go-to resource for whisky enthusiasts keen to stay abreast of the ever-evolving malt whisky landscape has since become an indispensable tool for the industry itself.

This year’s edition – meticulously compiled and edited, as always, includes over 200 tasting notes and covers 900 distilleries from across the UK and around the world.

In addition to a wealth of features, the 2026 edition includes articles by distinguished whisky writers such as Ian Wisniewski, Gavin D. Smith, Kristiane Westray, Nick Morgan, Jonny McCormick and Justine Hazlehurst.

First mentioned back in 2012, and featured continuously for the past 15 years, it’s been a genuine thrill to once again be included in the ‘Whisky in Social Media’ section – and to be named one of editor Ingvar Ronde’s personal favourites.

I’m sure you’re as eager as I was to get your hands on this year’s edition, so I’m delighted to announce that we have four copies to give away to four of our lucky followers.
