Auchentoshan has unveiled a new, contemporary packaging design for its range of triple-distilled single malts, coinciding with the launch of a new core range expression.
The Auchentoshan 12 Year Old Double Cask (40% ABV), which replaces its existing 12 Year Old release, has been matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks.
This latest expression is said to deliver an elevated tasting experience, showcasing a rich and refined flavour profile of sweet pastry and lemon zest, complemented by robust oakwood and hints of tangerine and lime, finishing with a sharp ginger note.
Reflecting Auchentoshan’s upbeat and fearless character, the refreshed packaging marks a new chapter for the Scottish Lowland distillery. It has been designed to welcome new whisky drinkers into the world of single malt while deepening engagement with long-standing fans.
In line with Auchentoshan’s commitment to environmental responsibility, the new packaging has been produced using sustainable materials to minimise environmental impact. Improvements have resulted in a 16.9% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per bottle, achieved primarily by reducing glass weight. The label is made from single-material, recycled-content, FSC-certified paper, and printed using recyclable-friendly techniques.
Commenting on the launch, Kirsteen Beeston, Senior Global Marketing Director, Scotch and Irish at Suntory Global, said: “As the Scotch whisky category continues to evolve, we’ve reimagined Auchentoshan to reflect a modern identity while staying true to its roots. The packaging has been designed to attract both new and existing consumers by establishing a more distinctive brand presence and enhancing their overall experience. This new look – and the spirit itself – has been crafted to stand out, educate and, most importantly, be enjoyed responsibly.”
The Auchentoshan 12 Year Old Double Cask is now available from selected retailers for a RRP of £38.00. Updated packaging across the distillery’s wider range will roll out over the coming months.
