Hennessy has announced the launch of a new collection of limited-edition bottles of Cognac, to celebrate Chinese New Year and the arrival of the Year of the Horse.

The design, which features on bottles of Hennessy V.S.O.P, James Hennessy, Hennessy X.O and Hennessy Paradis, has been created to evoke both movement and meaning, and is described as a celebration of bright perspectives and the momentum that defines the Year of the Horse.

The 2026 Chinese New Year bottles are rendered in metallic copper tones and deep mineral pigments. Grounded in a flowing red palette, the galloping horse motif captures the elegance and strength of this revered animal.

This interpretation of the horse, inspired by a foundational idea in Eastern philosophy concerning perspective, energy and freedom, is designed to unlock its full resonance through individual interpretation. The sculpted forms and open spaces invite viewers to engage actively with the piece, completing its meaning with their own perspectives and reflecting the layered complexity and evolving character of Hennessy’s cognacs.

Hennessy’s connection with China dates back to 1859, when the Maison first shipped twelve crates of Old Pale Cognac to Chinese shores. Since then, Hennessy has honoured Chinese culture by commemorating key festivals, milestones and creative collaborations.

Commenting on the launch, Vincent Montalescot, Chief Marketing Officer at Hennessy, said: “The Year of the Horse is a spectacular moment of awakening. It symbolises freedom, new perspectives and forward momentum — values that speak deeply to our own story. Through this collection, we honour over 160 years of shared history with China and celebrate the cultural energy that continues to inspire us.”

The Hennessy Chinese New Year 2026 collection is now available in the UK from Selfridges and Amazon: Hennessy V.S.O.P, RRP £65, and Hennessy X.O, RRP £210. James Hennessy and Hennessy Paradis will be confirmed in due course.
