The Crieff-based Glenturret Distillery has announced the launch of a new limited-edition expression which is said to celebrate the quiet artistry of time and wood.

The Glenturret Interlude (46.5% ABV) is a non-age-stated single malt Scotch whisky, initially matured in Sherry-seasoned casks before being further matured for over a year in Pedro Ximénez hogsheads.

This latest release from Scotland’s oldest working distillery has been described as a testament to the art of nurturing – of knowing when to wait, when to guide and when to allow time and wood to leave their subtle mark.

The Glenturret Interlude is said to deliver notes of ginger cake, dried fruits, clean oak, wood spice and candied ginger, along with hints of cinnamon, treacle and warming spice.

Commenting on the launch, John Laurie, Managing Director at The Glenturret, said: “Interlude is a fitting tribute to The Glenturret’s recent years of transformational refinement and growth. It is a whisky that speaks softly yet leaves a lasting impression. It’s about patience — allowing the casks and time to do their work without rushing. Every note of dried fruit and warm spice tells the story of that journey. For me, it’s a celebration of what happens when you give whisky the space to become something truly extraordinary and often unexpected. Interlude is more than a whisky; it is an experience of elegance and rarity. For those who appreciate the art of waiting, this is your moment.”

Limited to 500 bottles, The Glenturret Interlude is now available from the distillery’s website for a RRP of £150.00.
