House of Hazelwood has announced the launch of the first release in its new limited-edition Warehouse Reserve series.

House of Hazelwood Warehouse Reserve Batch 1 (51.4% ABV) is a heavily sherried 36-year-old blended Scotch whisky, drawn from the Gordon family’s private dunnage warehouse in Dufftown.

For almost a century, generations of the Gordon family have carefully laid down stocks of whisky for special occasions and personal enjoyment. This rare collection has become known as House of Hazelwood, named after the family’s Dufftown home. Today, the House of Hazelwood collection has grown to become one of the world’s greatest inventories of aged Scotch whisky.

This latest release marks the beginning of a series of exclusive bottlings sourced from the family’s most private and rare reserves.

House of Hazelwood Warehouse Reserve Batch 1, is said to display a deep, dark natural hue, with a richly layered nose of maraschino cherries, coffee beans, treacle and fragrant notes of rose. On the palate, it is full, rich and mouth-filling—initially sweet before developing into an exceptionally long, drying and warming finish.

Commenting on the launch, Jonathan Gibson, Director at House of Hazelwood, said: “This first Warehouse Reserve bottling represents the essence of our private stock—casks that have been nurtured for decades and held back until their character becomes unmistakably special. For generations, these private stocks were used for gifting and for sale by invitation only to friends and guests of the family. To be able to share even a handful of these bottles again with our closest friends and visitors feels like reopening a family album.”

Eilidh Muir, Blender at House of Hazelwood, added: “This 36-year-old blended malt is a celebration of sherry cask maturation. The sherry influence is profound, and its depth and complexity reward slow appreciation. We’re delighted to share it with those closest to House of Hazelwood.”

Limited to just 150 bottles, House of Hazelwood Warehouse Reserve Batch 1 will be available by invitation only and to guests visiting the House of Hazelwood warehouses in Dufftown. RRP: £1,650.
