The Macallan has announced the launch of a new limited-edition expression to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Diamonds Are Forever.

The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release (45.5% ABV) is an 18 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 2007 and matured in a combination of Sherry and Red wine casks.

Marking 55 years since the original release of the film, this latest release celebrates Bond’s connoisseurship of Sherry wine, reflecting a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, innovation and storytelling that connects the Highland-based whisky brand with James Bond.

Following The Macallan James Bond 60th Anniversary Release in 2022, this expression continues the creative collaboration between the two iconic brands. Crafted by Whisky Maker Russell Greig, the release draws inspiration from the Diamonds Are Forever plot, including Bond’s knowledge of Sherry and red wine.

The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release is said to deliver aromas of sweet polished oak, vanilla bean and rich dried fruits on the nose, followed by flavours of creamy vanilla, caramel, cocoa powder–coated champagne truffles, coffee, dried fruits such as figs, berries and apricots, alongside subtle spices on the palate.

The bottle design and presentation pack draw directly from Diamonds Are Forever production artwork housed in the official Bond archives – from the laser-beam satellite to the film’s iconic opening title sequence. Together, they offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of James Bond while reflecting The Macallan’s mastery of storytelling through both craft and design.

The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release is available exclusively via The Macallan website, The Macallan Estate Boutique and Heathrow Airport until February 17th. It will then be available from selected retailers, including Harrods, Selfridges, The Whisky Shop, Master of Malt and Amazon, from March 5th. RRP: £600.
