House of Hazelwood has announced the sell-out of its rare twin set of Vintage Cask Sherry cask matured and finished whiskies, created to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Horse.

Limited to just 50 sets, this exclusive release is said to embody the spirit of craftsmanship, heritage and artistry that defines the House of Hazelwood.

The rare twin sets of whiskies are comprised of: House of Hazelwood Vintage Cask: 1978 Blended Scotch Whisky: A blend of Lowland grain and Speyside malt, matured in a refill American oak cask. House of Hazelwood Vintage Cask: 1990 Blended Malt Scotch Whisky: A blend of Speyside malts matured in European oak first and second-fill Sherry butts, with a finishing period in a single Pedro Ximénez Sherry butt.

Each set is presented in a bespoke elm wood cabinet, handcrafted from wind-felled trees sourced from the gardens of Hazelwood House by Scottish designer and cabinet-maker Paul Hodgkiss Designs.

For almost a century, generations of the Gordon family have carefully laid down stocks of whisky for special occasions and personal enjoyment. This rare collection has become known as House of Hazelwood, named after the family’s Dufftown home. Today, the House of Hazelwood collection has grown to become one of the world’s greatest inventories of aged Scotch whisky.

Commenting on the release, Jonathan Gibson, Director of House of Hazelwood, said: “The Year of the Horse holds a special resonance for us — it represents energy, perseverance, and triumph, values that have guided the guardians of our inventory of aged Scotch whisky through generations. Through the great breadth and depth of our collection, we are able to offer something truly timeless — two magnificent whiskies that bridge heritage and celebration, presented in a cabinet that embodies the same enduring spirit.”

This latest limited-edition release, priced at £15,000, stood among the rarest ever offered by House of Hazelwood and are now sold out.
