The Louisville, Kentucky-based Michter’s Distillery has announced the launch of the latest release in its limited-edition Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey series.

Michter’s Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey 2025 Edition (57.6% ABV) has been produced using seven barrels from the distillery’s aging stocks: four Kentucky Straight Rye barrels and three Kentucky Straight Bourbon barrels.

This latest release marks only the fifth bottling in the Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey series. When it was first introduced in 2013, it represented a significant milestone in American whiskey history: an American whiskey company was offering a blend of this calibre at a suggested retail price in the several-thousand-dollar range, establishing a new echelon of American whiskey.

Commenting on the launch, Andrea Wilson, Michter’s Master of Maturation, said: “To be part of creating Celebration is a tremendous honour. In October 2025, Michter’s became the first whiskey to be named The World’s Most Admired Whiskey for three consecutive years by an international panel of voters convened by UK-based Drinks International.

Limited to 315 bottles, Michter’s Celebration Sour Mash Whiskey 2025 Edition will be available later this month from selected specialist retailers for a RRP of $6,000.
