Lux Row Distillers has announced the launch of a new limited-edition, distillery-exclusive release, produced using corn grown on-site at the Kentucky-based distillery.
Lux Row Estate Bourbon (53.5% ABV) is a five-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, made using a mash bill of 78% homegrown corn, 12% malted barley and 10% rye.
The idea for a homegrown bourbon came from Lux Row Distillers’ Master Distiller, John Rempe, who worked with his team to identify and plant the ideal variety of corn in an 11-acre field where rickhouses 6, 7, 8 and 9 now stand.
The latest release is said to deliver a honey-forward nose that carries through to the palate, accompanied by notes of brown sugar and black cherry. A subtle hint of rye emerges in a lightly spiced finish with dark chocolate notes.
Lux Row Estate Bourbon joins a growing family of award-winning Lux Row expressions. These include Small Batch Albariño Cask Finish and Small Batch PX Sherry Cask Finish, which won a Double Gold at the 2025 SIP Awards and was recognised by Whisky Advocate as one of the Top 20 Whiskies of 2025; 12-Year Double Barrel; and Lux Row Four Grain Double Single Barrel, which earned a Gold medal at the ASCOT Awards, a Best of Class Platinum designation at the SIP Awards, and a Double Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Commenting on the launch, Master Distiller John Rempe said: “Estate has been a true labour of love – from field to bottle – and the result exceeds all my expectations. Before the rickhouses were built, I remember looking out across the land we were farming for hay and thinking we could put these fields to use to do something really special – and we did. It’s a delicious pour and a wonderful testament to Kentucky’s natural resources and bourbon heritage.”
He continued: “I’ve always wanted to grow my own grains for a bourbon, and this was the perfect opportunity. I partnered with a local corn farmer, tested the grain throughout the growing process, and even rode along in the combine to harvest it. Seeing this Estate bourbon go from grain to glass using corn I grew myself gives me a real sense of pride and accomplishment. I think people are really going to enjoy this special bourbon.”
Limited in quantities, Lux Row Estate Bourbon is now available exclusively at Lux Row Distillers, for a RRP of $99.99.
