Talking of which, and as part of its official launch, we’re thrilled to be teaming up with our good friends at Loch Lomond to give away a trio of drams – a full set of their new The Original Series.

The Original Series combines one existing single malt from Loch Lomond’s award-winning portfolio, Loch Lomond The Original: Triple Oak, with the addition of two new expressions never previously released by the distillery: Loch Lomond Oloroso: Sherry Cask and Loch Lomond Peated: Rioja Cask.

Created by Master Blender Michael Henry, The Original Series celebrates Loch Lomond Whiskies’ unique capabilities in flavour creation. Using the distillery’s straight neck stills and traditional swan neck stills, alongside a range of cask finishes, the series delivers distinctive and recognisable flavour profiles.

Loch Lomond The Original (40% ABV) has been matured in a combination of first-fill, refill and re-charred American oak casks, highlighting the impact of cask maturation on the spirit’s signature style of fruit, honey and soft smoke.

Loch Lomond Oloroso: Sherry Cask (40% ABV), which is said to reimagine Sherry-finished whisky, has been finished for six months in Oloroso sherry casks. Combining a fruit-forward distillate with this finish, it delivers flavours of vanilla, raisins and brown sugar.

Loch Lomond Peated: Rioja Cask (40% ABV), which showcases the distillery’s innovative approach and expertise in maturation, has been finished for six months in Rioja wine casks. It pairs a fruit- and smoke-forward whisky with world-famous Spanish red wine casks, creating notes of honey, peach, pear and dark chocolate.
