Aceo Spirits has announced the launch of the first two releases from its new Osprey single malt Scotch whisky brand, inspired by the wildlife, landscapes and enduring spirit of Speyside.

Osprey 10 Year Old Braeval (46% ABV), matured in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, delivers notes of cocoa, stewed fruits, walnuts and gentle spice. Osprey 15 Year Old Glentauchers (46% ABV), matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, offers notes of tropical fruit, honey, citrus and creamy malt. Both expressions have been crafted with a focus on balance, character and provenance, showcasing the very best of Speyside.

The inaugural release officially launches on March 26th during World Osprey Week, celebrating the legendary bird’s successful return to Scotland. In cooperation with the renowned Loch Garten Osprey Centre in the Cairngorms, sales of Osprey will help support the conservation of this iconic raptor.

Flowing through the heart of Speyside, the River Spey has shaped the region’s natural landscape over millennia. In more recent centuries, the river and its tributaries have become the centre of Scotland’s whisky production and rich whisky heritage. Since the 1950s, the area has also been home to the fish-hunting osprey. Once extinct in the UK, the osprey’s return to the skies over Speyside stands as one of Scotland’s great conservation success stories.

Osprey pays homage to craftsmanship and nature — a whisky that honours its surroundings while delivering a refined and memorable drinking experience. With its roots firmly in Speyside, the brand is designed to resonate with those who value authenticity, appreciate nature and, of course, enjoy whisky.

Aceo Spirits has been part of the Scotch whisky industry for 27 years and has built a portfolio of successful brands, including Murray McDavid. The company is also currently reviving the historic Dallas Dhu Distillery in Speyside, originally built in 1898 and closed since 1983, with plans to return it to production and develop a state-of-the-art visitor attraction that honours its Victorian heritage.

Commenting on the launch, Edward Odim, Managing Director of Aceo, said: “Osprey is a deeply personal project for me. I’ve had a love of birds and wildlife since I was a young lad. Having spent time as a BBC wildlife producer, I had the privilege of making programmes about ospreys. Creating a whisky that brings together whisky and one of my favourite birds is immensely rewarding. Osprey celebrates whisky while supporting one of Speyside’s most iconic returning species — it’s a tribute not only to ospreys, but to Speyside and what makes the region so special.”

Osprey 10 Year Old Braeval and Osprey 15 Year Old Glentauchers will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for the respective RRP’s of £39.00 and £49.00.
