The House of Angostura has unveiled a refreshed packaging design for its rum range in the UK, extending its identity beyond its iconic bitters. The new look celebrates the brand’s Trinidadian heritage and long-standing rum-making legacy.

The Angostura Rum portfolio comprises Angostura 3 Year Old Superior White (37.5% ABV), Angostura 5 Year Old Superior Gold (40% ABV), Angostura 7 Year Old House Signature (40% ABV), Angostura 1919 Grand Reserve (40% ABV), Angostura 1824 Founder’s Reserve (40% ABV) and Angostura 1787 15 Year Old Special Reserve (40% ABV). The range is now presented in more sustainable packaging, alongside a bold evolution in look and feel that reflects Angostura’s global flavour heritage and its 200-year history in Trinidad.

The updated design draws inspiration from the House’s rich legacy and its enduring presence in Trinidad and Tobago. As the only rum distillery currently operating in the country, Angostura is uniquely positioned to offer a distinctive rum profile, described by the brand as unlike any other.

Central to the redesign is a visual story rooted in Trinidad’s natural landscape. Sugar cane, which thrives under the Caribbean sun, signals its readiness for harvest with the annual arrival of butterflies. This moment has inspired a new butterfly emblem, now prominently featured at the centre of each label, symbolising transformation and craftsmanship at the heart of Angostura’s rum-making tradition.

Sustainability has also been a key focus of the redesign. The new packaging features lighter-weight bottles and responsibly sourced paper for all labels. In addition, all secondary packaging has been removed from the three premium expressions available in the UK, reinforcing the House’s commitment to reducing waste.

Behind the brand is an award-winning, all-female blending team, led by Master Blender Ariana Maharaj, whose expertise and experience continue to shape Angostura’s distinctive style.

Commenting on the launch, Maharaj said: “Here at Angostura, we are globally recognised for our influence on, and historical contribution to, cocktail culture. We are delighted to introduce these modern packaging designs, inviting UK consumers—both new and existing—into our world of flavour and rum-making beyond bitters, inspired by the vibrant cultural roots of our home in Trinidad.”

Gary Hunt, Chairman of Angostura Holdings Limited, added: “This redesign is far more than a visual update. It has been carefully developed to enhance on-shelf presence and engage consumers with a modern, distinctive appeal. It also reflects our commitment to taking meaningful steps towards a greener future—because great rum should leave a positive mark on the world.”

The House of Angostura rum range is available from specialist retailers, including Master of Malt and The Whisky Exchange, with RRPs starting from £20.00.
