The Glasgow-based independent bottler Brave New Spirits (BNS) has announced a partnership with California-based Preiss Imports, who will act as their importer for BNS’s single cask and small-batch whisky ranges in the USA from 2026 onwards.

Discussions between Preiss Imports and Brave New Spirits began in August 2025, when Henry Preiss, Founder of Preiss Imports, and Paul Dempsey, Sales and Marketing Director at BNS, met at the Spirits Selection (Concours Mondial de Bruxelles) judging event in Jalisco, Mexico. The duo remained in contact after the event, meeting again during a Scottish Development International (SDI) trade mission the following November.

Brave New Spirits produces several whisky brands, including the Cask Masters, WhiskyHeroes, and Whisky of Voodoo ranges, and now exports to over thirty countries. In August 2023, the company received planning permission for its first distillery. Witchburn, in Campbeltown, will have an annual production capacity of 2.7 million litres of pure alcohol (lpa).

Preiss Imports is led by the father-and-daughter team of Henry and Nikki Preiss. Founded in 2012 to specialise in the import and marketing of premium international spirits and wines, the company currently supplies distributors in all 48 contiguous US states and works with a carefully curated selection of international spirits producers. The Preiss name has been iconic within the US drinks industry for over 50 years, with Henry’s father starting his first liquor importation business in Los Angeles in 1961 and Henry joining the company in 1974.

Commenting on the news, Paul Dempsey of Brave New Spirits said: “We’re excited to be working with Preiss Imports to bring our Cask Masters, WhiskyHeroes, and Whisky of Voodoo ranges to the USA. Henry’s 50-year history of building craft spirits brands in the US, combined with his close ties to Campbeltown, where BNS is building Witchburn Distillery, will give us the opportunity to work with many excellent retailers across the country.”

Henry Preiss added: “Discovering the forward-thinking approach and marketing vision of Brave New Spirits was both a revelation and a brand we are excited to be involved with.”

The first shipments of Brave New Spirits’ Cask Masters range are scheduled to arrive in the USA during Q1 2026, with plans underway to collaborate with a range of stores and festivals to introduce the new whiskies to US Scotch whisky enthusiasts.
