The Islay-based Kilchoman Distillery has announced the launch of its latest annual limited-edition Loch Gorm release.

Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2026 Edition (46% ABV) is a 10 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, matured in a combination of 23 Sherry butts from Bodega José y Miguel Martín, comprising 20 first-fill and three second-fill casks.

Loch Gorm is the name given to Kilchoman’s annual Sherry cask-matured limited-edition. The whisky’s dark copper tone is said to reflect the murky, peaty colour of its namesake loch, which overlooks the distillery.

The Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2026 Edition is said to offer notes of dried red fruits, barbecued meats, toasted walnuts and rich peat smoke on the nose, followed by candied orange, tropical fruits, salted caramel, dried prunes, cinnamon, nutmeg and integrated smoke on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, said: “For me, sherry-matured Kilchoman at 10 years old is close to its peak. The oloroso influence is impactful but not overwhelming, with a balance of sherry-soaked peat, roasted ham, nutmeg, orange peel and sweet spices. The specific proportions of Spanish and French oak, along with the unique seasoning process in Jerez, provide us with a cask that perfectly suits Kilchoman’s spirit character and Islay maturation.”

Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2026 Edition is now available from the distillery’s website and specialist retailers, for a RRP of £76.00.
