Tamdhu Distillery has unveiled two new limited-edition expressions, which it will launch at this year’s Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.

The Tamdhu Distillery Team Single Cask Special (58.9% ABV) is a single cask, single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2013 and matured in an American oak Sherry hogshead. Meanwhile, Tamdhu Dalbeallie 09 (60.5% ABV) is a single malt Scotch whisky matured in hand-selected first-fill European oak Sherry casks.

The Tamdhu Distillery Team Single Cask Special, limited to 345 bottles, is said to deliver notes of fresh raspberries, golden syrup, hazelnut and white chocolate on the nose, followed by berries, tropical fruits, gentle spices and the dryness of Oloroso Sherry on the palate.

Tamdhu Dalbeallie 09, limited to 1,000 bottles and named after the restored Victorian train station situated on the Tamdhu estate, offers notes of chocolate, coffee and walnut cake, fruit, fresh ginger, toasted marshmallow and treacle on the nose, followed by toffee, granola and cranberries on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Sandy McIntyre, Tamdhu Distillery Manager, said: “We are proud to be releasing two outstanding limited-edition whiskies at the Speyside Festival this year. Both the Tamdhu Dalbeallie Dram Number 09 and the Tamdhu Distillery Team Single Cask are exceptional and, I predict, will be snapped up by connoisseurs of fine whisky. They are examples of what we at Tamdhu do best.”

Sandy, continued: “The excitement and buzz that the Festival brings to Speyside, and especially to Tamdhu, is always awaited with bated breath. At the same time, it is exceptionally busy, and I look forward to sitting down with the distillery team at the end of the Festival to enjoy a dram or two of the Team Single Cask, to toast everyone’s hard work and savour both the whisky and the memories of what I hope will be another successful year.”

Both the Tamdhu Distillery Team Single Cask Special and Tamdhu Dalbeallie 09 will be available from the Tamdhu Distillery shop from May 1st – 2nd during this year’s Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, for the respective RRPs of £175.00 and £105.00.
