The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery has announced the launch of its first age-stated release as part of its 10th Birthday celebrations.
Filey Bay 10 Year Old Single Cask – Decade of Distilling (ABV tbc) is a Yorkshire single malt whisky, which was distilled and laid down to mature in a currently undisclosed cask in the summer of 2016.
Limited to 200 bottles, the latest release from the single-estate distillery in Hunmanby, North Yorkshire, will be available exclusively as part of a masterclass during the distillery’s 10th Birthday Open Weekend on August 1st and 2nd.
Commenting on the release, David Thompson, Co-Founder of Spirit of Yorkshire, said: “Be among the first to both sample and take home our Decade of Distilling Single Cask – the first 10-year-old age-stated Yorkshire whisky. This single cask whisky was distilled and casked in the summer of 2016. Presented in a special box and available exclusively at this masterclass, it demonstrates how our distillery style has matured over the past decade.”
David, continued: “During our very special Decade of Distilling masterclasses, participants can look forward to more than an hour of drams, conversation and discussion about our first 10 years of production, alongside tastings that reflect our journey from maturing malt to our latest release, Decade of Distilling.”
Spirit of Yorkshire is a true field-to-bottle distillery and one of only a handful worldwide to use 100% homegrown barley in the production of its single malt whisky. In 2025, it was named one of the world’s top 50 spirits producers by the IWSC.
The Decade of Distilling masterclasses will take place at 1pm and 3pm on August 1st and 2nd. Spaces are limited to 50 people per session, with tickets priced at £250. General admission tickets are available from £20 in advance. Tickets can be purchased via: spiritofyorkshire.com
