Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers has announced the launch of a new limited-edition release from its Old Perth range.

Old Perth Pedro Ximénez Limited Edition #2 (54.3% ABV) is a cask-strength blended malt Scotch whisky, comprising five Speyside distillates, each fully matured in first-fill Pedro Ximénez Sherry butts and hogsheads.

Following the original sell-out release in 2023, this latest expression has been crafted with a focus on richness and depth, and is said to be a celebration of Old Perth’s signature Sherry-led style, showcasing malt whiskies from some of Scotland’s finest distilleries.

Old Perth Pedro Ximénez Limited Edition #2 has been described by the brand as opening with indulgent notes of sticky dates and overripe grapes, layered with warming hints of ginger and cinnamon. The palate delivering a decadent profile reminiscent of sticky toffee pudding coated in rich molasses, with subtle cinnamon spice lingering on the finish.

Commenting on the launch, Graeme Mackeddie, Production Director at Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, said: “We’ve taken the rich, sherry-forward style our drinkers know and love and elevated it further through full maturation in first-fill PX casks, creating something deeper, more indulgent and truly special.”

Old Perth Pedro Ximénez Limited Edition #2, will be available from May 14th through selected specialist retailers, for a RRP of £60.00.
