The Kentucky based Michter’s Distillery has announced the launch of the 2026 release of its 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye.
Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye (46.4% ABV) which is a limited-edition release, was matured in charred new American white oak casks.
The latest release in the annual series which contains a higher proportion of corn and malted barley in its mashbill compared to many other rye’s, is said to offer notes of vanilla, toffee, toasted almonds, cinnamon, crushed pepper and orange zest.
In October 2025, Michter’s became the first whiskey brand to be named The World’s Most Admired Whiskey for three consecutive years by an international academy of voters convened by the UK-based publication Drinks International.
Commenting on the launch, Andrea Wilson, Michter’s Master of Maturation, said: “A critical component of ageing Michter’s 10 Year Rye is creating a barrel that accentuates the beauty and elegance of a Kentucky-style rye after more than 10 years of maturation. This whiskey delivers a balance of complexity and refinement through notes of baking spice, citrus and floral character, all of which are enhanced by the sweetness and maturity of the oak.”
Available in limited quantities, Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye, will be available from specialist retailers across the US from June, for a RRP of $210.00.
