The Cotswolds Distillery has announced the launch of the seventh limited-edition release in its Hearts & Crafts Series.
Cotswolds Hearts & Crafts Madeira Cask (54% ABV) is an English single malt whisky, matured in hand-selected American oak Madeira casks.
This annual release forms part of a series celebrating the Arts and Crafts Movement, which flourished in the Cotswolds during the late 19th century and championed the value of traditional craftsmanship. The whisky is said to deliver notes of cherries, toffee and frangipane on the nose, followed by notes of freshly baked Bakewell tart, dried strawberries and sweet spices on the palate.
Cotswolds Hearts & Crafts Madeira Cask comes presented in a decorative tube featuring a striking floral design interwoven with birds and summer fruits against a deep claret background. The artwork is inspired by William Morris, the prolific and innovative designer who was one of the leading figures of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Morris spent many summers at his Cotswolds home, Kelmscott Manor.
Founded in 2014 by Daniel Szor, the Cotswolds Distillery was among the early producers of the modern English whisky revival and has since gained international recognition through industry awards and specialist retail distribution. Daniel combined his love of whisky and the Cotswolds to create the first-ever full-scale distillery in the region, with a focus on single malt whisky and premium small-batch gin made with local ingredients.
Limited to 1,200 bottles, Cotswolds Hearts & Crafts Madeira Cask is now available from the Cotswolds Distillery website, for a RRP of £100.00.
