Penelope Bourbon has announced the launch of two expressions as part of its new Classic Series.

Penelope Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, was produced using a mash bill of 78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley, while Penelope Straight Rye Whiskey was made using a mash bill of 93% rye and 7% malted barley. Both expressions were matured in American oak barrels and bottled at 46% ABV.

Over the past eight years, Penelope has built its reputation through experimentation, blending and innovation, all with the aim of creating exceptional whiskey experiences that continually offer consumers something new to explore and enjoy. The Classic Series is said to continue that journey, reflecting Penelope’s belief that there is always more to discover in the world of bourbon and whiskey.

Penelope Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is said to offer notes of butterscotch, vanilla bean, candied orange, toasted sugar, honeyed corn, cinnamon, creamy mint and caramel. Meanwhile, Penelope Straight Rye Whiskey is said to deliver notes of spearmint, citrus zest, rye spice and caramelised sugar.

Commenting on the launch, Danny Polise, Founder and Master Blender of Penelope Bourbon, said: “These expressions have been in development for a while. Using Kentucky distillate for the bourbon, as we’ve done in previous blends, felt like a natural step as we worked to create something we genuinely enjoyed. We kept refining the blends until they felt right, particularly with the Straight Rye release.”

Penelope Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and Penelope Straight Rye Whiskey will be available later this month from selected retailers across the US, for the respective RRPs of $44.99 and $34.99.
