Isle of Arran Distillers has announced the appointment of Chimera Brand Development as its new UK distribution and brand-building partner, for its Arran and Lagg single malt whiskies.
The partnership marks a significant milestone for both companies, bringing together one of Scotland’s most respected independent distillers with Chimera’s highly focused, modern approach to commercial strategy and market development.
The collaboration aims to deepen market penetration, enhance premium visibility, and elevate the distinct identities of the twin island distilleries across both the UK on-trade and off-trade channels.
Commenting on the news, Euan Mitchell, Managing Director of Isle of Arran Distillers, said: “As an independent distiller, finding a partner who truly understands our island’s unique heritage and the distinct identities of both our Lochranza and Lagg distilleries was paramount. The UK remains a vitally important and highly competitive market for single malt whisky. Chimera’s progressive, targeted approach to brand development aligns perfectly with our vision. We are confident that its energy and focused commercial strategy will enable us to connect with whisky enthusiasts and grow our footprint across the country.”
“As we enter this exciting new chapter, we would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at Amber Beverage UK. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, partnership and hard work in supporting our brands in the UK over the years, and we wish them every success for the future.”
Seymour Ferreira, CEO of Chimera Brand Development, added: “We are incredibly proud to welcome Arran and Lagg to the Chimera family. These are exceptional, independently owned brands with an uncompromising commitment to quality and a clear point of difference. Our tailored, collaborative model is designed to respect the unique identity of each distillery while driving their presence and brand story across the UK.”
Isle of Arran Distillers restored whisky-making to the island for the first time in almost 150 years when it founded Lochranza Distillery in the north of the island in 1995. It went on to open Lagg Distillery in the south of the island in 2019, establishing two distinct distilleries that together showcase the breadth and diversity of Arran’s whisky making heritage.
