New Stirling-based independent bottler HIP has announced the launch of a new range of approachable, affordable, small batch, flask-sized releases.

The range which launches with two single malt Scotch whiskies, a single grain Scotch whisky and a Barbados rum, is said to reflect the brand’s commitment to quality, exploration and accessibility.

HIP’s branding is deliberately simple, confident and purposeful, allowing the spirits to take centre stage. Each release is presented in a distinctive 20cl flask-style bottle.

The inaugural HIP collection comprises:

12 Year Old Tomintoul (46% ABV)
Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Refill Sherry butt

13 Year Old Bowmore (46% ABV)
Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Refill Bourbon barrel

28 Year Old Invergordon (46% ABV)
Single Grain Scotch Whisky – First-fill Bourbon barrel

14 Year Old Foursquare Rum (53% ABV)
Barbados Rum – Bourbon barrel

Based in Stirling, HIP, which is supported by the team behind Kilninian Drinks Company, takes its name from both its distinctive flask-style bottles and its willingness to challenge convention.

HIP aims to make premium spirits – particularly whisky – more approachable, accessible and enjoyable for a new generation of drinkers.

Commenting on the launch, Connor McCartney, Founder of HIP, said: “HIP is about drinking better, not bigger. We wanted to remove the barriers that stop people satisfying their curiosity and exploring great spirits. Buying a full bottle can feel like a gamble, so we created a brand that lets people discover exceptional whisky and rum without breaking the bank. Everything about HIP is stripped back to what matters. Although our bottles are pocket-sized, each one opens the door to discovery. We source and bottle with the same care and attention as traditional independent bottlers – the only difference is the format.”

The four inaugural HIP releases will be available from selected specialist retailers, for a RRP of £19.50 each.
