Heaven Hill Distillery has announced the launch of a new Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon release, which is said to bring together two distinct mashbills.

Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond Double Mash (50% ABV) is a 9 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, produced using two-thirds of the distillery’s traditional Bourbon mashbill (78% corn, 10% rye and 12% malted barley) and one-third Wheated Bourbon mashbill (68% corn, 20% wheat and 12% malted barley).

For a whiskey to be classified as Bottled-in-Bond, it must meet the strict standards established by the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. These include being the product of a single distillery from a single distillation season, aged for a minimum of four years and bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).

Heaven Hill Distillery developed Double Mash to demonstrate both its deep understanding of Bourbon production and the unique opportunities offered by the Bottled-in-Bond designation. While Wheated Bourbon has become one of the whiskey world’s most sought-after styles, it is not recognised as a separate legal classification under US whiskey regulations. That distinction allowed Heaven Hill’s whiskey makers to combine traditional and Wheated Bottled-in-Bond Bourbons into a single expression, creating a whiskey unlike any other currently on the market.

The new release joins the award-winning Heaven Hill portfolio alongside Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond, the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection and Heaven Hill Grain to Glass, further showcasing the distillery’s commitment to producing exceptional American whiskeys that honour tradition while embracing innovation.

Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond Double Mash is said to deliver notes of toasted oak, honey and a hint of white pepper on the nose, followed by notes of honey, citrus oil, rich caramel and baking spices on the palate.

Heaven Hill Bottled-in-Bond Double Mash will be available from selected retailers across the US from August, for a RRP of $49.99.
