Independent Scotch whisky specialist Douglas Laing & Co. has announced the launch of the latest release from its Highland based Strathearn Distillery.

Strathearn Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Batch 03 (50% ABV) is a vatting of 31 carefully selected casks, drawing on both inherited stocks and spirit distilled under Douglas Laing’s ownership. The release is said to demonstrate the team’s continued understanding and refinement of Strathearn’s distinctive spirit character.

Continuing the distillery’s journey of refining its Highland single malt while remaining true to its signature cask recipe of ex-Bourbon, Virgin Oak and ex-Sherry Oak casks, this latest release places greater emphasis on Sherry Oak maturation, adding further depth and richness to Strathearn’s naturally characterful spirit.

Each production shift at Strathearn, one of Scotland’s smallest distilleries, continues to produce just a single cask of whisky, reflecting the meticulous small-batch approach that has become synonymous with the Perthshire distillery. Crafted by a dedicated team of three distillers using Maris Otter malt, Strathearn remains focused on producing a rich, creamy Highland single malt that balances tradition with innovation without ever compromising on quality.

Strathearn Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky Batch 03 is said to deliver aromas of toasted malt, barley sugar, dark honey and warming spices on the nose, followed by notes of buttery biscuits, chocolate, oak and leather on the palate.
