The Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery has announced the launch of a new limited-edition release to celebrate Yorkshire Day.

Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2026 Special Release (55% ABV) is a Yorkshire single malt whisky, matured in refill Sherry hogshead casks.

The latest release, which is the seventh bottling in the annual series, will officially launch during the distillery’s Open Weekend taking place on August 1st and 2nd.

Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2026 is said to be fruity and complex, delivering notes of fruit cake, brioche, frangipane and chocolate-covered raisins.

Commenting on the release, Joe Clark, Whisky Director at Spirit of Yorkshire, said: “We firmly believe that some of the very best whisky to mature at our distillery comes from refill sherry casks. These casks have already gone through a maturation cycle with us, softening the oak extractives and maximising the impact of the cask during maturation. This gentle process allows our light, fruity new make spirit to interact beautifully with the oak, resulting in a wonderfully complex and elegant flavour profile. The Yorkshire Day release is always one of the most anticipated of the year, and pre-sales have been buoyant.”

Limited to 1,500 bottles, Filey Bay Yorkshire Day 2026 Special Release will be available exclusively from the distillery and via its website. It is available to pre-order now, for a RRP of £95.00.
