That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC) has announced the launch of seven limited-edition bottlings for summer, headlined by a 21 Year Old World Whisky Blend. The rest of the line-up spans Islay, Speyside, the Highlands and one of Scotland’s largest grain distilleries.

The TBWC 21 Year Old World Whisky Blend (45.8% ABV) follows the success of the original World Whisky Blend, one of the company’s best-known bottlings. It combines whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, Canada and Japan, and has been finished in Sherry casks.

The label, designed by long-time Boutique-y collaborator and Glasgow artist Emily Chappell, transforms the original’s floating globe into an ice ball melting into the whisky. The artwork is a deliberate nod to climate change and is not TBWC’s first brush with apocalyptic themes, having previously dedicated an entire series of labels to the end of the world.

Commenting on the launch, Sam Simmons, Head of Whisky, said: “The question behind World Whisky Blend has always been a simple one: with so many incredible whiskies being made around the world, what do they taste like together? The 21 Year Old takes that question and applies it to much older stock – long-aged whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, Canada and Japan, married in sherry casks. Twenty-one years is simply the youngest whisky in the blend – the oldest remains a secret.”
