Gleneagles has announced the launch of the first release in a new limited-edition series of single malts, produced in collaboration with the Highland based Glendronach Distillery.

The partnership brings together two Scottish institutions, both built on the same pursuit of excellence: The Glendronach’s mastery of Sherry-cask maturation and Gleneagles, which, since opening its doors in 1924, has been one of Scotland’s most luxurious and iconic hotels.

The new three-part Moments from The Glorious Playground series is said to take its inspiration from a perfect evening unfolding at Gleneagles.

The first release, The Glendronach x Gleneagles A Moment of Reflection (46% ABV), is a 14 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, which takes its name from the moment at the end of a day of pursuits played out across the surrounding Perthshire countryside.

In keeping with this moment, Master Blender Rachel Barrie has selected fine Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks, for which The Glendronach Distillery is renowned. Amber-gold in colour, the whisky is said to deliver notes of milk chocolate, crème caramel, Seville orange, fig, apricot and sultana on the nose, followed by notes of honeyed caramel, chocolate malt, cinnamon, nutmeg, sultana and hazelnut on the palate.

Two further editions will follow in 2027 and 2028. Edition Two, A Moment of Reunion, follows the story into an evening beginning at The American Bar. Edition Three, A Moment of Celebration, concludes the series beneath the celebratory sparkle of The Ballroom’s chandelier.

The Glendronach x Gleneagles A Moment of Reflection will be available from September 1st, exclusively from The Still Room whisky shop at Gleneagles, for a RRP of £160.00. There will also be 100 bottles of the first release available via a public online ballot.
