Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One Team have announced the launch of their latest limited-edition release, which is said to celebrate the invisible craft, meticulous refinement and human endeavour at the heart of the Speyside-based distillery.

Glenfiddich & Aston Martin Formula One Team 16 Year Old – Release No. 2 (43% ABV) is a single malt Scotch whisky, that has undergone a five-cask maturation, combining first-fill Bourbon barrels, Port pipes, Oloroso Sherry casks, wine casks and a final touch of Fino Sherry butts.

Marking the second year of the partnership, the latest release was inspired by Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman and Aston Martin Formula One Team Managing Technical Partner Adrian Newey, and their shared belief that exceptional performance is defined not only by what can be seen, but by the invisible detail working beneath the surface.

Brian Kinsman designs a whisky that will not be ready for years; Adrian Newey shapes airflow around a car that does not yet exist. Different crafts, different materials, yet the same mindset: an instinct for what lies ahead and a discipline built on precision, curiosity and foresight. It is this shared pursuit that sits at the heart of the collaboration – two brands committed to going beyond the expected through mastery of the unseen.

Glenfiddich & Aston Martin Formula One Team 16 Year Old – Release No. 2, is described as delivering notes of rich stewed fruits, floral top notes, hints of marzipan and polished leather on the nose, followed by creamy, buttery toffee, caramelised cane sugar and dry oak tannin on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Brian Kinsman, said: “What I find most compelling about Adrian’s work is that the defining performance often comes from what you cannot immediately see. Behind every Aston Martin Formula One™ Team car are hundreds of small decisions, carefully refined to create a seamless whole. The same is true in whisky making. For this expression, I combined the influence of five distinct cask types, each contributing its own character, texture and depth. The art lies not in the individual components, but in bringing them together in a way that feels perfectly balanced and instinctively right.
