The Tennessee-based Jack Daniel’s Distillery, has announced the US-wide release of its American Single Malt Whiskey.
Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey (45% ABV) was produced using 100% malted barley and charcoal mellowed through sugar maple charcoal. It was matured in new, charred American oak barrels before being finished in Oloroso Sherry casks.
The nationwide US release follows the success of its launch in selected duty-free outlets and international markets in 2023. It comes as American Single Malt is recognised as the first new official whiskey category established by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) in more than 50 years.
Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt is said to be rich and complex, with aromas of soft oak, fruit and cocoa, alongside notes of dark chocolate-covered nuts and berries, and a subtle, sweet Oloroso Sherry finish.
Commenting on the news, Chris Fletcher, Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller, said: “At Jack Daniel’s, we strive to be at the forefront of creativity and experimentalism when it comes to crafting great whiskey, and helping lead the way as American Single Malt becomes an officially recognised whiskey category is an incredible milestone for the distillery. We’ve seen a fantastic response from international travellers in recent years, and we’re now thrilled to bring this special whiskey to friends across the country.”
Jack Daniel’s American Single Malt Whiskey, is now available from selected retailers in the US, for a RRP of $74.99.
