Havana Club has unveiled a new design for its 7 Year Old Rum, inspired by the city of Havana.
The new look Havana Club Añejo 7 Años (40% ABV), which contains the same award-winning rum, takes inspiration from the architecture, energy and enduring spirit of its Cuban home.
The refreshed design is said to capture the essence of the city that gave Havana Club its name. Radiating sunburst motifs evoke the warmth of the Cuban sun and sunsets along the Malecón – Havana’s celebrated seafront promenade – while intricate embossing and the cigar-shaped label pay tribute to the city’s architectural heritage and enduring character.
Engraved detailing, refined gold accents and premium finishes come together in a timeless design that tells the story of Havana and the generations of Maestros del Ron Cubano who have shaped Havana Club Añejo 7 Años for nearly five decades.
The redesign also places greater emphasis on the rum’s Cuban provenance. The D.O.P. Cuba designation and the “Añejo 7 Años” age statement – confirming that the youngest drop is aged for at least seven years – now feature more prominently on pack, signifying the authenticity, craftsmanship and rigorous production standards that define authentic Cuban rum-making.
First created in 1978 by the late Don José Navarro, the revered Primero Maestro del Ron Cubano, widely regarded as the father of modern Cuban rum, Havana Club Añejo 7 Años pioneered the revolutionary continuous ageing process that laid the foundations for the light Cuban rum style we enjoy today.
Through this unique method, the rum is matured before a portion is re-aged and expertly blended to build greater depth, complexity and consistency, ensuring every bottle carries the spirit of the original batch.
Commenting on the news, Asbel Morales, Maestro del Ron Cubano at Havana Club, said: “Havana Club Añejo 7 Años is the soul of Cuban rum-making. It was the first rum to truly express the depth and complexity that can only come from Cuba’s climate, our ageing traditions and the knowledge passed down from one generation of Maestros to the next. With this new design, we wanted the bottle to carry the same character and presence as the rum inside it. Every detail is inspired by Havana – its warmth, culture and spirit behind every drop. This is a bold new era for our flagship expression, while staying completely true to the spirit, authenticity and craftsmanship that define Havana Club.”
The new look Havana Club Añejo 7 Años bottles will roll out across European markets over the next couple of months, ahead of expanding internationally. RRP: €25.00.
