The Speyside-based Aberlour Distiller, has announced the launch of two new single malts, the oldest additions to its permanent portfolio.

Aberlour 21 Year Old (48% ABV), which is the brand’s first annual permanent release, is a single malt Scotch whisky, matured in American oak and Sherry oak casks.

Produced using the distillery’s signature double-cask maturation, the whisky is said to deliver a remarkably deep and complex character. On the nose, it reveals a luxurious bouquet of vibrant cherries, spiced baked apples and rich toffee, leading to a palate of indulgent chocolate and warm ginger.

Aberlour 25 Year Old (50.8% ABV) is a cask-strength single malt Scotch whisky, produced by marrying a small number of rare, hand-selected casks, including a single first-fill Sherry hogshead.

The resulting whisky is said to offer a sweet, fruit-forward nose. On the palate, a luxurious texture unfolds with indulgent notes of creamy vanilla, balanced by the sophisticated warmth of spiced ginger and aromatic cardamom.

Under the expert guidance of Master Distiller Graeme Cruickshank, the new expressions have been drawn from decades-old casks, each one hand-selected for bottling at its absolute peak. Released annually in highly limited, small-batch runs, they represent a finite moment in the distillery’s 150-year legacy and are anticipated to become must-haves for collectors, connoisseurs and seekers of rare craft.
