The Fife-based Kingsbarns Distiller,y has announced the launch of the inaugural release in a new annual limited-edition series, inspired by and exploring a different facet of the Cambo Estate and farm steading on which the distillery sits.

Kingsbarns The Cambo Collection: First Edition (46% ABV) is a 10 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky matured in STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) casks. Created to reflect the character of Cambo as the estate moves into autumn, the release marks the beginning of a new series exploring the place, provenance and heritage that shape Kingsbarns.

Set within the historic Cambo Estate in Fife, Kingsbarns Distillery is rooted in the agricultural heritage of the surrounding land, from its farmland and historic buildings to the locally sourced ingredients used in its whisky. Rather than attempting to capture that sense of place in a single bottle, the distillery is using the new collection to explore the many facets of the estate and the influences that shape its whisky.

Kingsbarns The Cambo Collection: First Edition is said to deliver notes of baked apple, cinnamon, bramble jam and blackcurrant on the nose, leading to flavours of warm cinnamon rolls, vanilla icing, plummy dark fruit and baking spice on the palate.

The fields, the farming heritage, the buildings and the landscape that surrounds us all contribute to the story we’re telling at Kingsbarns.”
