Brown-Forman, has announced the launch of its latest King of Kentucky release, a single barrel Bourbon aged for 14 years.
King of Kentucky Single Barrel – 2026 Edition, is a 14 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey comprising 99 barrels, ranging from 62.5% to 67.5% ABV. Of these, 51 were matured on the third floor of Warehouse I, while 48 were matured on the first floor of Warehouse L at the Brown-Forman Distillery.
The latest release is said to offer a fruit-forward aroma, with notes of orange zest, rich caramel, dark chocolate and toasted marshmallow layered over balanced, nutty oak character. On the palate, dark maple syrup coats layers of orange zest and vanilla wafer, with a touch of baked banana.
All bottles are filled, bottled, wax-dipped and numbered by hand, and presented inside a custom canister. Each bottle provides details including the proof, age, warehouse location, lot number, serial number and barrel number.
King of Kentucky was established in 1881 as a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Brown-Forman acquired the brand in 1936 from Selected Kentucky Distillers and discontinued it in 1968. In 2018, Brown-Forman revived the label, paying homage to the brand’s past, and continues the tradition today with this high-proof expression.
Commenting on the launch, Caleb Trigo, Assistant Master Distiller, said: “This year’s King of Kentucky is a remarkable expression of what time, careful maturation and thoughtful barrel selection can create. Each of these 99 barrels was selected for its exceptional character, and after 14 years of ageing, they deliver the bold, complex profile that defines King of Kentucky.”
Limited in quantity, King of Kentucky Single Barrel – 2026 Edition, is now available from selected retailers in the US, for a RRP of $399.
