Jura Whisky has announced the launch of the first two expressions in its new Sherry Cask range.
Jura 12 Year Old Oloroso Edition and Jura 15 Year Old Manzanilla Edition, both bottled at 46% ABV, celebrate the shared ethos of two cultures. Embracing the Spanish tradition of ‘sobremesa’ – the time spent relaxing, talking and enjoying one another’s company after a meal – the single malt Scotch whiskies are described as perfect for creating moments together.
Jura 12 Year Old Oloroso Edition, was initially matured in ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished in Oloroso Sherry hogsheads. It is said to offer layers of prune, caramelised walnut and dried citrus.
Jura 15 Year Old Manzanilla Edition, was also initially matured in ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished in Manzanilla Sherry butts. Described as zesty, it delivers notes of aromatic citrus, almond and delicate sea spray.
The packaging design for the new range features Jura’s distinctive bottle silhouette and logo, alongside subtle references to Andalusian mosaic tiles that evoke the spirit of Spain. Foil detailing and embossing add a tactile element to the design.
Last year, Jura launched an initiative to make whisky more accessible, focusing on clear age statements and straightforward tasting notes.
Jura 12 Year Old Oloroso Edition and Jura 15 Year Old Manzanilla Edition, are now available from selected retailers, for the respective RRP’s of £50.00 and £65.00.
