The Old Forester Distillery has announced the launch of the first release in its new annual ultra-premium, age-stated series, which is said to represent the pinnacle of the brand’s craftsmanship.

The Old Forester Tribute Series 2026 Release (57.5% ABV), which is a 12 Year Old Bourbon matured in American oak barrels, comes presented in a new collectible bottle inspired by Old Forester’s historic holiday decanter collection.

The Tribute Series pays homage to the best of Old Forester and celebrates the brand’s legacy of firsts, from its first twice-barrelled expression to the unique heat-cycled maturation process that shapes the whiskey’s flavour over time. Drawing on more than 150 years of bourbon-making heritage and design, the series brings together exceptional whiskey and Old Forester’s long-standing eye for distinctive packaging to create a meaningful, contemporary collectible designed to be as memorable as the bourbon it contains.

The distinctive blending and maturation process brings together some of Old Forester’s oldest age-stated stocks, rather than relying on single-barrel or single-lot selections. Bottled at an optimal proof of between 110 and 125, each release is designed to deliver a rich flavour profile that sets a new benchmark for aged bourbon.

The Old Forester Tribute Series 2026 Release, is said to open with aromas of warm caramel, sweet leather, golden raisins and dark cherries. On the palate, notes of cherry and candied walnuts develop into sweet cinnamon and cardamom, followed by a long finish of toasted oak, peppercorn, cherry preserves and black tea.

Commenting on the launch, Caleb Trigo, Assistant Master Distiller at Old Forester, said: “The Tribute Series celebrates the craftsmanship and innovation that has defined Old Forester for generations. By bringing together some of our most mature whiskey and drawing inspiration from an important chapter in our design history, we’ve created an expression that honours where Old Forester has been while showcasing what makes our whiskey distinctive today.”

Available in limited quantities, Old Forester Tribute Series 2026 Release is now available from selected retailers in the US, for a RRP of $299.99.
