The Tennessee-based Jack Daniel’s Distillery, has announced the launch of the latest expression in its limited-edition Single Barrel Special Release series.

Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Special Release Coy Hill Rye (64.35%–74.25% ABV) is a single-barrel Tennessee rye whiskey, crafted using the distillery’s signature rye mash bill of 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley. It was charcoal-mellowed before being matured for 10 years in charred American white oak barrels.

The casks selected for this latest release were matured at the distillery’s highest elevation, atop Coy Hill, across Barrelhouses 1–13. The pronounced seasonal temperature fluctuations at this elevation are said to have contributed to a complex, one-of-a-kind expression.

Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Special Release Coy Hill Rye is described as offering aromas of orchard fruit, balanced by honey and toasted oak. On the palate, citrus sweetness is layered with hints of molasses and black tea, alongside robust oak notes.

The 2026 Special Release follows the 2025 Tanyard Hill Rye and builds on a celebrated lineage of expressions matured at the distillery’s highest elevations, including this year’s Small Batch Rye, the 2024 Coy Hill Barrelhouse 8 Tennessee Whiskey, the 2022 Small Batch Coy Hill High Proof and the 2021 Coy Hill High Proof, which set a record for the highest proofs ever released by Jack Daniel’s.

Commenting on the launch, Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Chris Fletcher, said: “The annual Special Release series has allowed us to push the boundaries of our whiskey-making craft, and our previous Coy Hill releases have been among our most acclaimed. We are thrilled to return to Coy Hill and showcase our Tennessee Rye Whiskey while taking full advantage of the unique maturation environment and over ten years in the barrel to yield a bold, complex whiskey we are incredibly proud to share.”

Available in limited quantities, Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel Special Release Coy Hill Rye, is now available from selected retailers in the US, for a RRP of $89.99.
