The Speyside-based GlenAllachie Distillery, has announced the launch of a new limited-edition release from its Meikle Tòir peated single malt brand.

Meikle Tòir – The Turbo 2026 Edition (50% ABV) is a five-year-old peated single malt Scotch whisky (71 PPM), matured in a combination of American virgin oak, Oloroso Sherry and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks.

Produced entirely at The GlenAllachie Distillery, the Meikle Tòir brand is led by whisky veteran Billy Walker. Drawing on more than five decades of whisky-making expertise, Walker reimagined The GlenAllachie’s signature Speyside character with a distinctive peated edge, creating a whisky that has since developed a loyal following.

Its intense smoky character comes from capturing what the distillery describes as the ‘heart of the heart’ of the distillate – the cut with the highest phenol content. Peated whisky production takes place for just six weeks of the year at the distillery, while the distillate used for The Turbo is produced in even smaller quantities, making each release particularly rare.

This fourth instalment in the annual limited-edition series, is said to offer aromas of warm honey, candied hazelnuts, molasses, crystallised ginger and mocha on the nose. The palate follows with notes of butterscotch, orange zest, honeycomb, plum syrup, dried red berries, cinnamon and salted caramel.

Commenting on the launch, Billy Walker, Master Distiller, said: “The Turbo is, by nature, incredibly limited, so if you can get your hands on a bottle, it’s worth it. This year, I’m delighted to showcase The Turbo matured in some of my favourite casks: American virgin oak, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry. Together, they create a deeply intense profile which, alongside the strong smoke we know and love from previous expressions, makes this 2026 Edition a real standout. It’s a very moreish dram, packed full of sweet campfire smoke, spices and candied dark fruits.”
