The Tomintoul Distillery has announced the launch of two new limited-edition releases to mark the reopening of the distillery to the public.
Tomintoul 11 Year Old (55% ABV) is a single malt Scotch whisky matured in a combination of Oloroso Sherry and American oak casks, with just 1,009 bottles available. Tomintoul Sauternes Barrique Single Cask (56.4% ABV), distilled in November 2004, is a single cask single malt Scotch whisky matured in a Sauternes barrique, with only 318 bottles released.
Having been closed to the public over the winter months, the Speyside-based distillery has now resumed its programme of guided tours, offering whisky lovers the opportunity to step behind the scenes and experience production at one of Scotland’s most quietly distinctive distilleries.
Visitors can once again explore the production areas, meet the team, and enjoy guided tastings that bring Tomintoul’s story to life. The reopening comes just ahead of the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, when the region welcomes whisky enthusiasts from around the world.
Commenting on the reopening, Robert Fleming, Master Distiller at Tomintoul, said: “There’s something special about welcoming people back into the distillery each spring. It’s a chance to share not just the whisky, but the place, the process, and the people behind it. These exclusive bottlings are a natural extension of that experience — something visitors can discover and take away with them from our brand home in the heart of the Cairngorms.”
He added: “With the Spirit of Speyside Festival just around the corner, it’s an especially exciting time to visit the region, and we’re looking forward to welcoming both new and returning visitors through our doors.”
Tomintoul 11 Year Old and Tomintoul Sauternes Barrique Single Cask are now available exclusively from the distillery, for the respective RRPs of £79.00 and £225. Tours are running until November 1st 2026 and can be booked via tomintoulwhisky.com
