The Crieff-based The Glenturret Distillery has announced the launch of a new limited-edition release, said to bring together two remarkable landscapes: the Scottish Highlands and the celebrated vineyards of Bordeaux.
The Glenturret Deux Terrain (42.8% ABV) is a 21 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, initially matured in Sherry-seasoned oak casks before being finished in casks that previously held Sauternes wine from Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey.
Founded in 1618 in the heart of Bordeaux, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey now sits under the same Lalique guardianship as The Glenturret. This latest release celebrates the unique connection between two historic producers, each deeply rooted in its landscape and dedicated to the pursuit of excellence.
Created by Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno, this latest release from Scotland’s oldest working distillery takes its name from the meaning of ‘Two Lands’.
The Glenturret Deux Terrain is said to balance Highland character with the subtle influence of one of France’s most revered wine regions. Shaped by time and careful maturation, it offers a distinctive expression of both provenance and cask influence, delivering notes of pineapple, caramelised apple, gentle spice, vanilla, seasoned oak, ginger, sweet cinnamon and ripening citrus.
Limited to just 500 bottles, The Glenturret Deux Terrain is now available from The Glenturret website for a RRP of £750.00.
